Criminal Attorney Information
Best Interest of Your Client - Best Interest of the Court

Brookside Institute is the only science-based, medical treatment for addiction that provides a comprehensive treatment protocol to treat the destructive behaviors that lead to repeat offenses.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Medication aids in the recovery process; when combined with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), long-term recovery is highly successful. CBT teaches your client how to identify and alter destructive thought patterns and behaviors. It helps your client discover and identify different ways of behaving, coping and re-framing formerly overwhelming issues. It is important to understand that the lifestyles and habits attached to addiction require major changes in his or her thought processes as well as behavior. At Brookside Institute your client will receive individual and group therapy sessions conducted by our staff of licensed Masters level therapists, not counselors

Addiction Medications
From heroin addiction to the prescription drug addict, opiate withdrawal creates high relapse rates, sometimes requiring hospitalization. Brookside Institute uses the latest FDA approved medications including buprenorphine (Suboxone) to ease withdrawal symptoms. Naltrexone, an anti-craving medication, can help alcohol dependency and other addiction disorders. A short regimen of naltrexone may provide a critical period of sobriety, during which you can learn to stay sober without it. Vivitrol™ (naltrexone for extended-release injectable suspension), the first and only once-monthly injectable medication for alcohol dependence, is now available at Brookside Institute. Unlike the pill form of naltrexone, the medication is taken once a month instead of every day.

Medication Management
Your client's treatment team at Brookside Institute includes a psychiatrist and registered nurse. If your client is being treated for co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, PTSD and bipolar, his or her medication regimen will be managed by licensed medical professionals.

NeuroScience Center
Based on your client’s physician-directed treatment plan, he or she will have access to Brookside Institute’s revolutionary NeuroScience Center. The NeuroScience Center is committed to utilizing advanced research, highly trained medical personnel and recent discoveries in science. At Brookside Institute’s NeuroScience Center, we’ve gathered the leaders in neuroscience from the U.S. and around the world to discover how human cognition (reasoning and logic) and emotion are mapped to specific neural circuitries – literally mapping our behaviors to our brainwaves and functions. And beyond understanding the connection between behavior and function, we are embracing new non-invasive and non-surgical technologies to change the areas of the brain that aren’t functioning normally.

  • Electroencephalogram (EEG): Identify areas of the brain which are not functioning at capacity and design best approach for treatment.
  • rEEG (referenced EEG): Uses years of medication studies to identify those medications that will best treat the individual disorders such as depression, anxiety, etc
  • Magno EEG Resonant Therapy (MERT): Revolutionary technology exclusive to Brookside Institute that uses noninvasive electromagnetic resonant process to tune up or down specific brainwaves. MERT targets the alpha brainwave – metabolism, cognitive function and brain "reward" system.
